Converting Lotus Domino Attachments to PDF using DominoPDF

Sam Putrevu of Aviator software writes about their usage of DominoPDF with their application for cetralised attachment conversion.

Aviator Software, Inc. develops document management solutions that dramatically improve the productivity of knowledge workers. By consolidating, classifying and indexing e-mails, office documents, scanned paper and any electronic file, Aviator’s libraries become a powerful corporate asset where employees, partners and customers access and share information.

While delivering Document Management Solutions, we were facing customer requests for storing various file attachments (MS Office files for example) in PDF.

We wanted to provide a simple and easy to use facility from our product to create PDF of attachments. We also wanted it to work from a web client and a notes client. Customers are requesting to keep their documents in PDF for various reasons including compliance with regulations, document security, interoperability etc.

After trying different options, we finally selected DominoPDF to be integrated with our application to provide an efficient PDF conversion functionality.

Using DominoPDF we have implemented an auto conversion facility for our Document Management products. This enables our customers to have a cetralised document repository where documents are converted to PDF.
